Delete your Newer Times account
You can delete your Newer Times account yourself at any time, on the website or in the Newer Times app. It takes about a minute.
How to delete your account
- Sign in to Newer Times on the website or in the app.
- Open Account Settings (in the app: the Menu tab, then Account Settings).
- Scroll to Delete my account and tap Delete my account permanently.
- Enter your password, type DELETE, tick the box, and tap Delete my account.
Want a copy of your posts and photos first? Use Account Settings › Download your information before you delete.
Can't sign in?
First try "Forgot your password?" on the log in page. If you still can't get in, email legal@newertimes.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm the request with you, then delete the account.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, posts, comments, photos and clips, your friends list and your settings are deleted.
- Messages you sent stay in your friends' conversations, shown as from a "Former member".
- We keep only what we must: records of moderation decisions and reports for a limited time, and anything the law requires us to keep. See the Privacy Policy for how long.
Deleting is permanent and can't be undone. You can join again later with the same email address.
Just need a break?
Account Settings › Deactivate my account hides your profile and posts until you sign in again. Nothing is deleted.
